Find out what your data supplier has really delivered
Assess the quality, credibility and suitability of a supplier's data before you buy it, deliver it to a client or put it to work.
Audit a complete file or a sample, focused on what you need to know: how much of it you can use, whether it fits what you were sold, and whether the supplier's account of it holds up.
- Whole file or a sample
- Focused on your requirements
- Evidence for every buying decision
You find out what a file is worth after you have paid for it
Supplier files arrive with a description: the volume, the audience, the geography, the source. Most buyers take it on trust and learn what they actually received from campaign results, client complaints and replacement requests.
By then the money is spent, the client has seen the data and your reputation is attached to it.
What an unaudited supply costs you
- Spend on records that cannot be used.
- Data that does not match the audience or geography it was sold against.
- Renewals with suppliers you cannot prove are underperforming.
Why a supplier's description is not enough
A file can look complete and still be weak. Records can be valid but unusable, plausible but fabricated, contactable but outside the market you paid for. Spot checks on a few rows miss what only shows across the whole file.
What a source audit answers
Provero assesses the file against the questions that matter for this purchase and its intended use. Each audit uses the dimensions relevant to the file, so you are not paying for the same fixed test every time.
How much of it can you use?
How many records can actually be reached, with numbers that connect and mailboxes that accept mail.
Is it complete and plausible?
Missing fields, malformed entries, junk names and records no real person would produce.
Do the details fit together?
Whether the identity and contact details in each record belong to the same person, or have been assembled.
Does it fit what you were sold?
Whether the data matches the audience, geography or eligibility requirements it was sold against.
What needs suppressing?
Records to exclude before the intended activity, such as TPS and CTPS registered numbers before a calling campaign.
Does the traffic story hold up?
Where submission metadata is supplied, whether the connections and locations support the supplier's account of how the data was collected.
Is it recycled or fabricated?
Patterns across the file that point to recycled data, fabrication or other systematic quality problems.
How does it compare?
This delivery against other suppliers, and against the same supplier's previous deliveries.
Provenance is one part of the picture. Recycled data often passes ordinary validation but carries a breach history that genuine, recently collected data does not. Provero reads that history across the file. A supplier can lower a breach rate. Nobody can make old data young.

Why Provero
-
Audits at file scale
1.4 million records have been processed in a single upload, so a whole supplier file can be audited, not just a handful of records.

-
Act on the findings without moving the data
Cleanse the file you keep, or verify records from a new source, on the same platform.
What customers found
“We tested Provero as an additional layer for our KYC data provenance due diligence and the outcome reports were very insightful. We could identify data that was part of a legacy breach, data that existed on national suppression files along with detailed phone and email validation flags. Really impressive solution and would recommend to anyone onboarding new data or to check existing datasets. It enabled us at Dataxcel to make informed decisions especially around compliance.”
Pricing
Pay per record from one prepaid balance. Audit a sample first, so the cost of the decision stays small.
