Mobile type & tenure API

See the subscription behind the mobile number.

A mobile number alone does not tell you whether the subscription is Pay As You Go, Pay Monthly or Business.

Provero does.

Check the subscription type and whether the subscriber was connected to their current network on a date you choose. Use the result to segment records, qualify enquiries and add context to onboarding and risk checks.

Check new submissions through the API or upload an existing mobile list in bulk.

Know which offer, workflow or check comes next

Stop treating every mobile record the same. Find out what subscription sits behind the number and put that information to work.

  • Find PAYG subscribers for Pay Monthly offers

If you sell mobile contracts, identify PAYG subscriptions in your data so you can target a relevant offer rather than send everyone the same campaign.

  • Separate Business and consumer subscriptions

Identify Business subscriptions and route them to the appropriate campaign or team. Keep PAYG, Pay Monthly and Business records separate without asking customers to classify themselves.

  • Check network history before making a decision

Was the subscriber already on their current network six months ago? Twelve months ago? Supply the date that matters to your process and get an answer you can use in onboarding or risk assessment.

  • Check new submissions or an existing file

Connect the API to your forms and workflows, or upload a file to check mobile records in bulk.

Mobile type & tenure FAQ

Can I check whether a mobile is PAYG or Pay Monthly?

Yes. Every successful check returns the contract type: PAYG for Pay As You Go, PAYM for Pay Monthly, or Business.

Does the service identify Business subscriptions?

Yes. Business is one of the three contract types returned, so you can separate business lines from consumer PAYG and Pay Monthly subscriptions.

What does the tenure result tell me?

Whether the subscriber was connected to their current network on the date you choose. Send the date that matters to your process, such as six months before an application, and the result comes back true or false for that date. If you leave the date out, today is used.

Does it return the exact network joining date?

No. It answers a yes or no question for the date you check: was the subscriber on their current network on that date? Choose the date that reflects the rule you want to apply.

Can I check mobile numbers in bulk?

Yes. Upload an existing mobile list through Provero, or connect the API to check records in your own systems.

Which networks are supported?

O2/Telefonica and Vodafone. EE and Three are not currently covered.

How is this different from HLR or SIM swap?

HLR phone verification tells you whether a number is live and which network serves it. A SIM swap check tells you whether the SIM changed recently. Mobile type & tenure tells you what kind of subscription sits behind the number and whether the subscriber was on their current network on a given date. Many teams use them together.
